Elizabeth was a 1992 Honors Intern out of Washington D.C. for the Federal Bureau of Investigation and subsequently hired as a special agent from 1995-2000, working kidnappings, extortion, bank robberies, drug crimes and corruption. Growing up in the Detroit, Michigan area, Elizabeth traveled to San Diego on athletic scholarship, and obtained a B.A. in International Relations from the United States International University. After completing a mission for the LDS church in the Canary Islands, she earned a joint J.D./M.P.A. from Brigham Young University in 1994, served as a legal clerk for the U.S. House of Representatives Ethics Committee, and clerked at the United States Federal Claims Court. Elizabeth and her husband Giovanni—the first couple to be married in the San Diego temple—are currently raising eight happy children in beautiful San Diego.
